Mr. Stuka was named to the Board of Directors in August of 2011 and serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Stuka is a Managing Member of Osiris Partners and a 30-year investment industry veteran. Prior to forming Osiris Partners, he was a Managing Director of Longwood Partners, managing small cap institutional accounts. In 1995, he joined State Street Research and Management as manager of its Market Neutral and Mid Cap Growth Funds. From 1986 to 1994, he served as the general partner of Stuka Associates, where he managed a U.S.-based investment partnership. Mr. Stuka began his career in 1980 as an analyst at Fidelity Management and Research. As an analyst, he followed a wide array of industries including healthcare, energy, transportation, and lodging & gaming. Early in his career he became the assistant portfolio manager for three Fidelity Funds, including the Select Healthcare Fund, which was recognized as the top performing fund in the U.S. for the five-year period ending December 31, 1985. In 1984 he became the original manager of the Fidelity OTC Fund, which was the second-best performing U.S. mutual fund for 1985, appreciating 69%. At the time of his departure in June, 1986, the Fund had appreciated over 115% in 18 months and assets approached $1 billion. During his career, Mr. Stuka has been featured in articles in The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, The New York Times, and BusinessWeek.
Mr. Berman is a successful entrepreneur within the medical device industry. He joined Scimed in 1986, leading its marketing activities until its merger with Boston Scientific in 1995. From 1995-2000 he served as President of Boston Scientific/Scimed where he provided leadership and management for more than 4000 employees in four locations, and in 1997 he was named a member of Boston Scientific’s Executive Committee. Since leaving Boston Scientific, he co-founded or was a founding director of 7 medical technology companies, a number of which have been acquired by leading strategic medical device companies.
Mr. Berman currently serves on the board of eight medical industry companies; Aetherworks, Apnex, Benechill, Cardiosonic, PharmaCentra, MikrobEX, AngioSlide and InterValve. He received both his BS and MBA from Cornell University and was inducted into the Minnesota Business Hall of Fame in 2010.
Mr. Cohen was appointed to the Board of Directors in July 2025. He brings more than 40 years of leadership experience in the medical technology industry with a successful track record of scaling commercial operations and creating shareholder value through market leadership and successful exit transactions.
Mr. Cohen was the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Axonics, Inc., which he took public in 2018 and led through its $3.7 billion acquisition by Boston Scientific in 2024. Under his leadership, Axonics was recognized as the number one fastest-growing company in the Americas by Deloitte and the Financial Times in 2021. Until May 2025, he also served as Chairman of SoniVie Ltd., a clinical-stage company developing device treatments for hypertension, which was acquired by Boston Scientific for $600 million.
Previously, Mr. Cohen served as Chief Executive Officer of Vessix Vascular, Inc., where he led the company through its acquisition by Boston Scientific in 2012, and of publicly traded Cardiac Science Inc., a pioneer in automated external defibrillators later acquired by Zoll Medical.
In addition to his executive roles, Mr. Cohen currently serves as an independent director for Kestra Medical (Nasdaq: KMTS) and Spectrum Vascular Inc., as well as Chairman of privately held Nalu Medical and Vice Chairman of privately held Tulavi, Inc.
Mr. Cohen’s career achievements have earned him numerous honors, including the MedTech MVP Award, EY Entrepreneur of the Year, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from SoCalBio.
Mr. Dearen was appointed to the Board of Directors in September 2025. He brings nearly 40 years of leadership experience in the medical device and life sciences sectors, with a proven track record of guiding companies through critical financial milestones and creating shareholder value through disciplined execution.
Mr. Dearen previously served as President, co-founder, and Chief Financial Officer of Axonics, Inc., where he led the company through its IPO and rapid commercial growth, helping more than 300,000 patients worldwide. Axonics was acquired by Boston Scientific in 2024 for $3.7 billion. Prior to Axonics, he was Chief Operating and Financial Officer of Vessix Vascular, Inc., where he played a key leadership role until its acquisition by Boston Scientific in 2012 for $425 million.
Mr. Dearen has also served on the boards of several innovative medical technology companies. Until July 2024, he chaired the Audit Committee and served as a Board member at Endotronix, a company advancing heart failure care through pulmonary artery pressure and vital sign monitoring. He currently serves as Audit Committee Chair and Board member at JenaValve Technology, a leader in transcatheter heart valve solutions, and BetaBionics (Nasdaq: BBNX), developer of the iLet Bionic Pancreas, an autonomous insulin delivery system for patients with diabetes.
Throughout his career, Mr. Dearen has been instrumental in advancing transformative medical technologies, driving operational and financial execution, and building long-term value for both private and publicly traded companies.
Gary Roubin, M.D., Ph.D joined the Board of Directors in October of 2020
Dr. Gary Roubin is an internationally renowned interventional cardiologist recognized for his pioneering work in carotid stenting and embolic and protection devices. He is also acknowledged for the development of coronary stenting and the first FDA-approved coronary stent.
During his tenure as Chief of Interventional Cardiology at The University of Alabama at Birmingham and later as Department Chairman and Chief of Service of the Lenox Hill Hospital Cardiac and Vascular program in New York, he helped bring both programs to international standing in peripheral, neurovascular, and cardiac interventions. Dr. Roubin’s vast clinical experience has enabled him to recognize technical innovations that improve patient outcomes. He has been central to the success of several biotech startup businesses and is the named inventor on 10 issued U.S. and EU patents and 41 additional patent applications worldwide.
Dr. Roubin attended medical school at the University of Queensland where he completed his degree in 1975. After completing his cardiology training, he enrolled as a Ph.D. candidate at Sydney University and was awarded this degree in 1983. He then joined Andreas Gruentzig at Emory University to continue his post-doctoral research. In October of 1987, he developed and placed the world’s first balloon expandable coronary stent. In 1989, he moved to the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he was Professor of Medicine and Radiology and Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories and Interventional Cardiology Section at the University of Alabama Hospital. Dr. Roubin has co-authored more than 280 papers and 225 abstracts in peer reviewed journals. He has also edited three textbooks on interventional cardiovascular medicine, coronary, and carotid artery stenting and contributed to 20 textbooks on interventional cardiology and vascular medicine. His book “The First Balloon Expandable Coronary Stent: An Expedition that Changed Cardiovascular Medicine” was published in 2015. He lectures extensively in the United States and abroad and has received numerous national and international awards for his notable contributions to cardiac and vascular care. Dr. Roubin has been on record for the last decade advocating the use of optimally designed “fine mesh” stents to further reduce the risk of embolic complications from CAS.
Mr. Slosman has over 30 years of experience in the medical device industry with focused leadership in commercialization and international market development in both public and privately held companies. Prior to joining InspireMD, he served as a Business Consultant for Integra LifeSciences overseeing commercial strategy and market development for Integra’s international business. Before that, he served as President of ITAMAR Medical, a developer of cardiovascular and sleep diagnostic technologies. Prior to ITAMAR, Mr. Slosman served as Chief Executive Officer of Ovalum Vascular, Ltd., a privately held medical device company focused on vascular device innovations. Earlier in his career, Mr. Slosman served as Chief Executive Officer of Phormax Medical, Inc., Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Emerge Interactive in addition to senior commercial leadership positions at Johnson & Johnson, GE Healthcare and Baxter.
Mr. Slosman received a BS from The University of Alabama and an MBA from The University of Chicago.
Mr. Ward has over 40 years of experience in the healthcare industry, including nearly 30 years at Medtronic, Inc. where he served in various leadership roles including as Senior Vice President and President of the CardioVascular, Neurological and Diabetes businesses. Mr. Ward is the Founder of Raymond Holdings, a firm with activities in venture capital, strategy and transactional advisory services for medical technology and life science companies. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Genetics and Cell Biology, his Master of Science in Toxicology, and his Master of Business Administration, all from the University of Minnesota.
